Many of us are shy about naming the SACRED in our lives. Following the example of Marcus Borg, who tells of his own mystical experiences, we will CHAT about Our Mystical Experiences.
Join us Tuesday Feb. 22 at 10am over Zoom for faith CHAT
In the 1960’s, theologian Karl Rahner insisted that, ““The devout Christian of the future will either be a ‘mystic,’ one who has ‘experienced’ something, or he(sic) will cease to be anything at all.” Sadly, far too many of us have acquired the notion that mysticism is beyond us. But if the DIVINE MYSTERY we call “GOD” finds expression in Creation, then we have all experienced the SACRED. So, we continue our CHAT about the question, “What is religion for?” with the topic of mysticism as we explore Experiences of the SACRED. Enjoy the video below in which Marcus Borg gives us much to CHAT about!
Join us Tuesday Feb. 15 at 10am over Zoom for faith CHAT
Zooming out from our own particular context so that we might see beyond our own narrow world-view. Taking a wider view is challenging, even as it inspires. We will begin our look at religion’s role in the lives of humans with Barbara Brown Taylor’s gentle, grace-filled, invitation to “Holy Envy.” From there we will move where-ever our CHAT together may lead us. Watch the Video and then join the CHAT. Our fist CHAT on January 18th 10am to 11:15am – to allow a few moments to briefly introduce ourselves to fellow CHATTERS – then we will meet Tuesdays at 10am – to 11am. The Zoom link is below.

Join us for honest CHAT as we explore: Prayer BEYOND Theism. As many of us have moved beyond the faith grew up with, praying has changed for us. Join us as we explore progressive theology’s insights on prayer.
We gather on Tuesday mornings at 10am over Zoom (just follow the link below)
our topic for 3 Tuesdays will be “The Cosmic CHRIST”
Moving beyond our conversations about Jesus of Nazareth, we will begin to explore what has been referred to by mystics and theologians as the Cosmic or Universal CHRIST. To prepare ourselves to delve into a more expansive way of understanding, you are invited to view the video below, in which Richard Rohr provides an overview.
